Clare Island beach hosts the annual Clare Island Regatta. People come from far and wide to watch and take part in a whole host of races (both on and off the sea) including:

• Currach races (small traditional Irish fishing boats)
• Achill Yawl races
• Donkey races
• Egg and spoon races
• Tug of war

There is also plenty of food and drinks served on the beach for the day with bouncy castles and live entertainment.
