Westport’s Sixth Annual Christmas Walking Festival 2013

Date: From Sunday December 29th 2013 to Wednesday January 1st 2014

Listed below are three options that are available. Please choose one that best suits your requirements.

Option 1:

B&B

• 3 nights B&B accommodation – located 5kms from Westport
• 2 Guided Walks – Grade: Moderate – Hard (Hard on the mountain hike & Easy Moderate on the low level walk)
• 2 pack lunches on walking days
• Transport to and from the walks
• Transport to town each evening – please note that you will have to arrange a taxi home. Taxis are readily available and cost about €7 or €8 approx.

• No single supplement
• Price €185.00

Option 2: Hotel

Option 3: Walk only
Staying with friends or have a holiday home in the area?

Price for options 2 & 3 – €35.00 per day. Must be booked and paid for in advance to reserve your seat on the bus. Price includes transport and guide.

Itinerary:
Sunday 29th December: Arrive in Westport and check into accommodation of your choice.

Monday 30th December:
Start time: 10.30am
Ben Creggan and Ben Gorm. Starting at Aasleagh Falls this hike offers spectacular views of Killary fjord.
Time: 5+ Hours
Total height gain: 800 metres

Tuesday December 31st:
Start time: 10.30am
Today we offer a low level flat walk. A reasonably good track throughout but it can be wet and muddy in places.

Killary harbour Coastal walk plus three mile section of the Western way. A lovely walk along the southern shore of Ireland’s only fiord coupled with a further 3 miles of the Western Way. The walk finishes in Leenane.

Time: 4 Hours
Distance: 9 miles.

Please note that the walk days are interchangeable and the the mountain hike will be done on the better of the two days weather wise. itinerary can be changed or altered at the discretion of the guides.

NB: All walkers require proper walking boots with ankle support, fleece, hat, gloves, rainwear, rain protected rucksack and a supply of water and food.

A €50.00 per person deposit (by crossed cheque made payable to Croagh Patrick Walking Tours and posted to the address below) is required to secure your place on this weekend.
