SUNDAY, MARCH 17TH ST PATRICK’S DAY

Westport is one of the best places in Ireland to celebrate the man himself this St Patricks day. Climb Ireland’s most iconic holy mountain, Croagh Patrick. Soak in the parade and atmosphere with a pint in Westport. Give Irish dancing a go on the streets with live music. Whatever you decided to do here, the craic is sure to be had!

There will be lots of activities taking place throughout the town, the main event being ST PATRICK’S DAY PARADE which starts at 1:30 pm celebrating Biodiversity, Featuring Westport Town Band, Clew Bay Pipe Band, Samba Beats and street theatre from The WorkHouse Studios. The best vantage point for the parade is at the Octogan monument.

This year the festival will also incorporate events from the Mac Lui Children’s Arts Festival.

10am-10.45am DRAGONFLY CHILDREN’S YOGA SESSIONS with Nicole Dunwood (5 – 8 year olds).

11am- 11.45am (9 – 12 year olds) Westport Town Hall Theatre.

12.45pm OPEN-AIR TRADITIONAL IRISH MUSIC SESSION with Westport’s Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. The Octagon.

4pm MAC LUÍ COMMUNITY SHOWCASE Festival closing concert. Ceolchoirm na Feile Mac Lui. Westport Town Hall Theatre. Free event.

MONDAY, MARCH 18TH BANK HOLIDAY

12.30pm TRADITIONAL MUSIC at O’Cee’s Coffee Shop with The Gannon Sisters.
