Gaelforce West is a 67km adventure race incorporating running, kayaking, and cycling.
The event has been running since 2006 and is probably the ultimate adventure race in Ireland.
The race starts on the beautiful Glassilaun Beach in Connemara. The competitors then run along the south trails of the Killary Fjord. On reaching the shores they will kayak across the Fjord to the Mayo shores on the north side. Competitors then transit the Delphi and Sheffery Valleys by bike until they reach Croagh Patrick, summit Croagh Patrick, then descend on the amazing little town of Westport.
