Westport triathlon club currently  meet up to train and socialise in preparation to complete or compete at triathlons. We cater for everyone from beginners in all three disciplines to people who have experience and to want improve. Triathlon is the fastest growing sport in the world and this is evident by the amount of triathlons that are held around the country each year between April and October. It’s a great way to see the country, keep healthy and take on a new challenge. Triathlon is a challenging but rewarding sport, so take up a new challenge for 2014 and join us!

The course

The Westport Triathlon is a sprint distance triathlon based around Westport and Clewbay. The race is in its 6th year now and it is getting more and more popular. The 750m swim is based around the point in Westport. This is followed by a 20K cycle on an out and back route along coast road to Croagh Patrick, take in the stunning views of Clew bay on the way! Then last but not least, a 5 k run on the Greenway.
