The 2016 Westport Food Festival takes place over the weekend of the 24th to the 26th of June but there is plenty to wet your appetite before the Main Course including the Food Fest Forum & Festival Launch.

This year’s Westport Food Fest Forum will take place as part of a special festival launch night for the 2016 Festival on Thursday May 19th in Hotel Westport starting at 7pm.
The special guest on the night will be “unrelenting Irish food visionary”, JP McMahon. JP is culinary director of the EatGalway restaurant group which comprises Michelin-starred Aniar Restaurant, award-winning Spanish restaurant Cava Bodega and Eat Gastropub. He is the founder and host of the Food on the Edge symposium as well as the current chair of the Galway Food Festival. An ambassador for Irish Food, JP is committed to the educational side of food and to supporting the best of local produce and local suppliers.
JP will give a food demonstration on the night and will also take part in a Q&A session with members of the audience. There will also be a Grow Your Own interactive demostration with Cormac Langan of Westport College of Further Education for those interested in learning how to grow your own fruits and vegetables.
