The 2016 Westport Food Festival takes place over the weekend of the 24th to the 26th of June but there is plenty to wet your appetite before the Main Course including Áine Maguire’s Great Irish Food Quiz.

For some years Áine Maguire of The Idle Wall has run the famous Great Irish Food Quiz in Dublin, but this year, the food nerd’s event of the year is taking place in Westport in aid of the 2016 Westport Food Festival and Western Care Association on Thursday 26th May in the Wyatt Hotel.

Whether you consider yourself a connoisseur of all things culinary or just a lover of food then this quiz is for you. There will be plenty of food related questions and there will also be an opportunity to put your taste buds, and not just your foodie knowledge, to the test.

There will also be an array of fantastic prizes to be given out and you don’t need to be an expert on Food and Wine to take part. Come along and join in the fun. It promises be a night to remember!
